Righteousness and Grace

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name" (Psm. 100:4). "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philip. 4:6). "Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people" (I Chr. 16:8). "Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness" (Psm. 30:4). "I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people" (Psm. 35:18). "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" (II Thess. 2:13). "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men" (II Tim. 2:1). "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is , the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name" (Heb. 13:15). "And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel" (I Chr. 16:4). "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes" (Mat. 11:25). "Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid . And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me" (Jn. 11:41). "First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world" (Rom. 1:8). "I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ" (I Cor. 1:4). "I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all" (I Cor. 14:8). "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you" (Philip. 1:3). "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry" (I Tim. 1:12). "I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day" (II Tim. 1:3). "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful" (Col. 3:15). Well, there it is my friends, just a scant few reminders that the faith of Christ is a way of true thankfulness. And remember on this day and every day, that giving of thanks to God is only acceptable if it is accompanied by being truly thankful. And just one more thought of note: As I went through these scripture references and copied and pasted them; I could not help but feel the greatness of God's love that was expressed by the dear and great apostle Paul unto those to whom he wrote. I hope I am counted worthy of the Lord to one day meet him. Maybe I will get to polish the living brass that will adorn his feet. May God bless one and all on this day and every day.
