The Last Days and Scripture

"And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him" (Dan. 7:27). "But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it" (Mic. 4:1-4).

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den" (Isa. 11:6-9). Here we have just a few scripture quotes pertaining to the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ and his saints on the earth, which will be commenced with the second coming of the Lord from heaven, at which time he will catch up his elect to "meet [him] in the air" when he appears (I Thess. 4:16,17; I Jn. 3:2,3; Rev. 20:6). A lot of folks are worried about what is going on with the governments, politics, economies, etc, of this world; but I would rather tend to the business of the kingdom of God, keep my focus on Jesus, and look forward to the glorious time that is soon to come for "all them that love his appearing" (Lk. 21:26; Mat. 24:6; Mat. 6:33; II Tim. 4:8). I would rather follow the divine counsel of the great prophet Isaiah, who gave us this powerful statement of absoluteness and truth: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee" (Isa. 26:3). The absolute truths and realities of the holy scriptures are a living and powerful reality to those whose determination and resolve is to be real and true with God. Amen.
