Understand this: Jesus did not die at Calvary to gain a personal victory over death

Understand this: Jesus did not die at Calvary to gain a personal victory over death. He IS LIFE! “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (Jn. 14:6). He already WAS life in fact. He didn't suffer the horrible death of crucifixion to get victory over sin. He IS HOLINESS! He always has been. “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens” (Heb. 7:26). In fact Jesus didn't come to earth to wage a warfare against Satan, sin, or anything else in order to gain a victory that he needed. Jesus just plainly IS VICTORY! He was unchallenged by Satan or anyone else before he ever came here. Jesus didn't need to come here at all, or to do anything as a man.

We were the ones with all the need, and our desperate needs were THE ONLY reason he came here as a man and suffered everything that he suffered. He wasn't losing that he needed any victory, but we were losing big and we had no possibility of victory unless he came and won the day for us. So he did: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham" (Heb. 2:14-16). Jesus lived as a man, fulfilled the law as a man, was scourged as a man, died as a man, and resurrected as a man; just so we could have his righteousness, his healing, his victory for us over sin, and his resurrection unto eternal life as men.

Jesus literally obtained victory over sin, death, and every adverse thing known to mankind, so that we could obtain the same in him. The victory that he won at Calvary was not his victory, it was ours. When he died on that cruel cross, all of our sins, all of our deaths, all of our physical afflictions, and all of our adverse burdens were nailed to that cross and died with him. It's now up to us to live in that victory, labor in that victory, administer that victory to others, and die in that victory; in order to fulfill and honor what he did for us at Calvary. That's why he did it, not so we could have a whimsical 'think so' victory, or a 'say so' victory; but rather that we might actually live and operate in the victory that he purchased for us at the greatest of all costs.

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin... Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof” (Rom. 6:6,12). The apostle continued his powerful account of the literal victory over sin that Jesus purchased for us, in chapter 8: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath MADE ME FREE from the law of sin and death” (Rom. 8:1,2). None of that my friend is talking about a 'say so' or a 'think so' victory, but rather a literal and powerful victory that was purchased by the Savior of the world who came from heaven to accomplish exactly that for you and me. THAT powerful reality is the only road to salvation. A very happy Easter to one and all. 😇😇❤️
