A Warning Against Abortion and Sexual Sin

Anyone who does not acknowledge that abortion is murder is either evil or very stupid, or maybe both. Is that a harsh statement? No, it is just a no-brainer as it is said. So why is abortion so prevalant in our society and societies today? It's really a simple answer. It's because fornication is so widely practiced and accepted. I'm talking about sexual relations apart from marriage. What percentage of women who have abortions do you suppose are married? I haven't done the math but I can assure you it is a very small percentage. Then that begs the question, What is the moral correlation between fornication and abortion? Well, think about it a little. First of all, girls and women who have fornication are committing the very cheapest form of whoredom. After all, prostitutes are at least doing it for money. I'm not justifying prostitution, but when a female commits fornication she is literally giving herself away for nothing in return other than a moment of pleasure that has repercussions to the conscience afterward. So again I say, it's the cheapest form of whoredom that a female can commit. I'm sure that there are many who don't like me using the word 'whoredom,' but according to God that is what it is. Look at this prime example in the Bible: "And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab" (Num. 25:1). So how did God feel about his men going in to commit fornication with the Moabite women? "And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel. And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Israel" (Num. 25:3,4). Is that a clear enough answer? So yet once again I say that fornication is the cheapest form of whoredom.

Now I understand that men and young guys are committing fornication just as much as the young women, so I'm not letting the male gender off the hook here, and neither is God. That should be evident from the Bible quote above. However if the female gender would not consent to the fornication, then the men couldn't do it. That's simple enough math I believe. Not only so, but it is almost always the female who makes the ultimate choice to abort a baby. So let me get back to the point here, and that is the moral correlation between female fornication and abortion. Again, it's really easy to see. If a girl or a woman disregards herself enough to literally give herself to someone for no good reason, including not even for money; then why should she be expected to have any more regard for the life of her unborn child? It is simply a matter of disrespect. Disrespect for one's self, and thereby disrespect for everyone else involved, including unfortunately the conceived child who has no say in the matter. There just isn't enough said today about the grave severity of the sin of fornication. In the society I live in, if a young woman is twenty years old or more, and is still a virgin; she is considered a real 'wierdo.' Same for the guys. Truth is, if you can find an attractive young woman over twenty years old that is still a virgin, chances are you have found someone with an unusually good heart, because she has undoubtedly turned down many eager suitors. But on the other hand there are young women and men who have run rampant with fornication and many other evils, who have unusually good hearts as well. That doesn't change the seriousness of the sin however, and those people will have more that can potentially haunt them if they are redeemed, than the other.

The point is that there is no advantage whatsoever for someone who is redeemed from their sins, to have been a partaker of fornication beforehand. As far as that goes, anyone who has had an abortion can be redeemed from that as well, but it doesn't mean that it was good for them to have done that. The price that Jesus paid at Calvary is big enough to cover every sin of every kind that has ever been committed by anyone and everyone, and ever will be. That in no way implies that much harm is not done in many ways by the sins we commit, especially sins that are very serious in nature like fornication and abortion. The apostle Paul, when speaking of the relationship of a husband with his wife, said, "So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it" (Eph. 5:28,29). In another place he showed how a man CAN "hate his own flesh:" "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body" (I Cor. 6:18). There it is; committing fornication is an utter disrespect to one's own self; and if we disrespect ourselves how are we going to know how to respect others? It's certain that we can't respect God while breaking his commandments to pieces at the same time. So there is the reason why abortion is so prevalent and so accepted in society today. It is because those who do it have already sown a major disrespect against themselves, and therefore they are not going to respect much of anything else, including the unborn child who has no say in the matter. Just as fornication is a convenient thing that can be done to satisfy the flesh, so abortion is a convenient thing that can be done to 'undo' any responsibility that may result from the moment of pleasure. But make no mistake my friend, both of these 'conveniences' have deadly and disastrous outcomes for the conscience and for the well being of those who do them. Therefore, to quote the great apostle once more, "Flee fornication." Amen.
