Nothing Is Complicated

After many years of following after God’s Spirit, and being taught thereby, I have progressively learned that all things that are true and real, are perfectly simplistic. It all becomes more simplistic all the time in fact. All divine truth when it is truly found is purely and totally simplistic, very easy to understand, and makes perfect sense (Prov. 14:6; Prov. 17:24). In fact, the holy Ghost impressed upon me the following words many years ago, in regard to true revelation knowledge that comes from heaven: “Revealed truth from God disappoints pride.” What the Spirit was saying to me is if you are looking for great dark mysteries that will make you look like a really wise and intelligent person to people, you won’t get that from God. “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe… Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence” (I Cor. 1:21,25-29). God has made everything very simplistic and easy for mankind, but man has unduly complicated things in his ignorance, his pride, and his opposition to God (Eccl. 7:29; Rom. 8:7). God is obviously the greatest, most powerful, and wisest being in all of existence; and that is surely an understatement, almost to the point of insult. Yet I am fully persuaded by long personal experience with him, that he is also the most simplistic being in all of existence.

The only things that are complicated are the things that we do NOT know. But even the things that we do not know need not be complicated if we just don’t try to figure them out on our own. It is evident that we neither need to, nor will we know all things. But there are many things in our spiritual journey in Christ that we DO need to know, and the only way we are going to truly know those things is if that knowledge is imparted to us by God. Peter told us, “Cast all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (I Pet. 5:7). Likewise the apostle Paul instructed all believers, “Be careful [worrisome] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philip. 4:6). Now there is a very good reason for these instructions from both of these great apostles, and the next verse in Philippians 4 is the answer: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philip. 4:7). If we truly cast all of our cares on the Lord continually, and seek him diligently with a thankful, though sometimes desperate heart, we can go our way with the peace of God within. But we cannot have peace or a thankful spirit if we try to figure it all out and dwell on our cares and needs in our minds (Prov. 23:4; Mat. 6:25,27,31,34). We were not designed to be independent from God, and when we try to figure out how to solve our problems on our own, everything becomes complicated and fearful. In fact, if we stay our minds on our problems, almost nothing is possible. But if we will trust God fully, and stay our minds on him, we will find rest for our souls, and we will also find , “with God all things are possible” (Isa. 26:3; Mat. 19:26). So the answer is to commit all things to the Lord in prayer daily, and then with peace and assurance wait on the Lord and trust him to take care of things. When we cast our cares on the Lord, we need to leave them with him. Then and only then will we find that nothing is complicated. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa. 40:31).
