No Commentary Needed

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, IF we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end. While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief… Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it… Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” (Heb. 3:12-19; Heb. 4:1,2,11). For those who are honest of heart, and love the righteousness of God, this powerful passage of scripture needs no commentary. It says what it says, and means what it says, even as all scripture does.

There is simply NO SALVATION for ANYONE who continues in sin, contrary to what the modern Christian traditions and doctrines which are cleaved to by so many, would have you believe. Those who are NOT honest of heart, and love righteousness in word, but not in heart or in deed; will not believe the truth even “though one rose from the dead” (Lk. 16:31). Neither will they believe, regardless of how much love, how much prayer, how many miracles, or how much good someone has shown them. How do I know this? THEY DID NOT BELIEVE JESUS, and “they” were God’s people who were in covenant with him. The same is widely true today. Still our calling is to go forward with the motivation and hope that EVERYONE will believe, and continue to deal with everyone as if they will. For it is written; “[The love of God] beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things” (I Cor. 13:7). It’s amazing how that works, but it does if you give it your all and draw plenty of life from the vine every day (Jn. 15:4). God is an amazing God. Amen.
