The Foolishness of Haste

I’m sure you’ve noticed many times how that you may often be in a conversation, and someone will invariably talk at the same instant that you open your mouth to speak, and that it happens repeatedly. It can be in person or on the phone, and it happens all the time. I couldn’t count the times I’ve had it happen when I’m talking to someone about something important. I’ve actually marveled at it many, many times; how that so many people will talk right over top of me at the very moment I go to say something. I even pause many times to give the person space to go ahead and speak what’s on their mind, and then after I’ve waited a few moments, and I go to speak; there it is, right on cue: They will start blabbering at the very instant that I open my mouth to speak. Well, I marvel at it no more because the Lord revealed to me what is going on in that scenario. It is always a demon inciting confusion and attempting to procure strife as well. It’s an ‘talking excess’ demon that knows exactly what button to push, and when, in order to bring about as much chaos and disorder as possible. If a person is given to excessive talk, that demon will work them like an ox to cause havoc and confusion in just about every conversation that they get into. I’ve also noticed that this condition is even more prevalent when someone is conveying truth to someone else by the Spirit of God. These demons LOVE to get someone to trample on God’s Spirit and his truth when it is being spoken to them, and they are very successful in doing just that with anyone who is given to too much talk. But demons are no respecter of persons or topics, so they will do it with whoever they can do it with, whenever they can, about anything that they can. You have to admit, it doesn’t really motivate you to want to talk with someone when they are constantly talking over top of you.

Demons absolutely love to alienate and separate people; and they will make every effort to do that with every single opportunity that they have. Unfortunately they have a whole lot of opportunity, because a lot of folks are more than willing to give them the space. What’s even more amazing is that many people are just so accustomed to living this way, and communicating with one another this way, that it really isn’t a problem to them. What that tells me is that by and large what they have to say is of no worth. I assure you that it is a serious problem indeed when people are satisfied to live their lives in utter confusion, disarray, and chaos: “Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom” (Prov. 15:21). Yes my friend, this ‘talking’ malady is indeed the work of a demon, and that leaves me with no particular astonishment as to why Solomon, by the wisdom of God, said the following: “Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him” (Prov. 29:20). That passage truly is a sobering and fearful saying, and that by the Spirit of God. The question is however, “Believest thou the scriptures, and the Spirit of God?” Surely we can agree that no good can come from doing the bidding of a demon. So many folks just don’t understand the seriousness of the business of speaking words. There is a very good reason that Jesus told us, “That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Mat. 12:36,37). I hope you realize that “being condemned” on the day of judgment is NOT a good thing at all. Therefore this topic is worthy of a lot of consideration, prayer, and change on the part of those who have this condition, and who hope to inherit eternal life. “For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but FEAR THOU GOD” (Eccl. 5:7).
