Judgment and the World

"The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it (Isa. 40:3-5). This was a prophecy of John the Baptist forerunning the first coming of Christ to this world, but trust me when I say that this prophecy is about to be repeated. We are on the verge of the outbreak of the greatest move of God in history, and that move will be Jesus Christ manifest powerfully through his people. The valleys that are about to be exalted are the nobodies who are nowhere, but whose humble, honest, and downtrodden hearts have caught the eye of a just and mighty God. He will lift them from obscurity and ruin, and will set them up on high. As it is written in the prophecy of Hannah the mother of Samuel: "He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them" (I Sam. 2:8). The mountains and hills that are going to be brought down are those who are now exalted by corrupt means, who have also gotten the attention of a just and mighty God, "whose judgments are in all the earth" (Psm. 105:7).

Again I refer to the prophecy of Hannah: "Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble" (I Sam. 2:3-5). Yes indeed my friend, we are about to see these things fulfilled in living color, up close and personal. The tables are about to be turned for the benefit a lot of downtrodden but honest people, and against a lot of proud and foolish people. We're about to see that it pays good dividends to fear God, and bad dividends not to. When the presence of Jesus Christ comes on the scene with a magnitude of divine love, and power, and truth; nothing remains hidden, and nothing escapes judgment, whether for good or for bad. Hold your seat, because we are just about there. In the short meantime we would be wise to remember these sobering words of reality from Solomon: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Eccl. 12:13,14). It won't be long, so be prepared.
