God Is In Charge - Do What Is Right

"In whose [God’s] hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind… With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools… He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty… He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man" (Job 12:10,13-17,18-21,23-25). My goodness, what fear of God is packed into these powerful statements of Job! Oh yes my friend, you can be most assured that God is in complete control of every single thing that happens in the earth at all times, one way or the other. And that is good news for all who love doing what is right, for the scripture says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Rom. 8:28). So who is it that truly loves the Lord? "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous [i.e. hard to keep]" (I Jn. 5:3). And what are his commandments? "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as [in like manner] I have loved you" (Jn. 15:12). So it is evident that we are called to diligently seek understanding of just how it is that Jesus loves us, so that we can love one another in like manner. And I can tell you that the key to that understanding is that God’s love is always holy, not like this world’s love (Lk. 6:31-36). So the understanding of what holiness truly is will be the determining factor in whether we are able to love one another with God’s love, or whether we just go on in a religious format and dress up this world’s love with a religious guise. And according to the scriptures this also will determine whether we will be saved or not (Prov. 9:10; Heb. 12:14; Eccl. 12:13). Amen.
