Too Big for the Bible?

What a shame. In the truest sense of the word. A shame. A lot of folks today have just gotten too big for the Bible. Too big for the apostles. Too big for the prophets. Oh yeah, and too big for Jesus. And I’m not talking about ‘the world’ that you might think I’m talking about. I’m talking about 'the world’ that is in the body of Christ. That’s right, folks who have been baptized with the holy Ghost (I Cor. 12:13). Yeah, just pick & choose the scriptures you like, make of them what sounds good to you, and go for it. And the stuff you don’t like? Well heck, those guys just had a momentary lapse of reason when they wrote that. After all, they were 'only human.’ Right. No my friend; wrong. And I mean DEAD WRONG! Literally DEAD wrong. Do you really think you can play 'scrabble’ with the holy scriptures, and get away with it? It is absolutely no different whatsoever from the idolatrous ways of the wayward old testament saints: “The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass… He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest… yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto… he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god. They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand… He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?” (Isa. 44:13-15,17,18,20)

Yes friend, they made idols according to their own liking, and they are still doing the same today. If you have read many of my posts, you will often see it said that “nothing ever changes.” You can “wrest the scriptures” to say whatever you may like them to say, but understand that whoever does so, does it “unto their own destruction” (II Pet. 3:16). But folks have gone beyond that in this 'advanced age of spiritual enlightenment.’ Don’t agree with some scriptures? Just say that the apostles, or the prophets, or even Jesus was “just in the flesh with that one.” Haven’t heard that one? Oh yeah, I’ve had it brought right into my own Bible study, like up close and personal. And it is not something unheard of otherwise by any means. I don’t know about you, but the way Jesus, and the apostles, and the prophets preached really suits me. It’s plenty enough for me in fact. Why, in fact, it just happens to be the same exact way that the holy Spirit of God has taught me to preach for the past many years as well. Nothing but scripture, confirmed by scripture, which is confirmed by scripture; with the result being absolute perfect spiritual sense, and irrefutable truth too! Oh yeah, it has done nothing but developed me with the love, and peace, and joy of the Lord; and given me power over sin as well. I don’t know, maybe you’re bigger than that, and you have more 'grown up’ stuff that you’re into. That’s great, but just be sure to keep it for yourself, because I’m afraid I won’t be joining you on that path. That’s a path that’s is too wide for me, and I don’t want to be around the kind of multitude that can fit onto that road. I’m staying right here, on the the path Jesus spoke of when he said, “and few there be that find it” (Mat. 7:14). Amen.
