Healing and Temptation

In order to be healed, or in order to successfully pray for someone else's healing, every avenue of doubt must be eliminated. So you might ask, Just exactly what is an avenue of doubt? The answer to that is very easy: ANY reason in your mind as to why you or someone else may NOT be healed is an avenue of doubt. It is God's established will that those who believe on Jesus FOR healing, be healed. Jesus demonstrated that graphically when he was here, by healing EVERYONE who came to him or was brought to him for healing. EVERYONE! If there were reasons why someone can't be healed then there would be some record of someone NOT being healed during Jesus' ministry. It really is that simple. Jesus prayed for people who had all kinds of reasons for being in the shape they were in, and he never once made issue of WHY they were sick or afflicted. That means that is God's will to heal ALL who believe on Jesus for the same. Period. Every consideration of why someone may not be healed has to be put totally out of mind, and we must simply stay on the narrow, straight line of faith in Jesus to heal us. The good news is that we can do just that because it most assuredly IS his will to heal us, and his great desire. So that narrow straight line of faith is actually the ONLY place that truth exists in the arena of divine healing. That is why the beloved apostle wrote these words that are inspired by the holy Ghost: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (III Jn. 1:2). God wants us to be pure in heart and free from sin, and he wants us to be whole in body as well. He also wants us to have our needs met, and not to live in destitution. There are a thousand and one reasons that we can come up with to say why maybe someone can't be healed. ALL of those reasons constitute unbelief, and absolutely NONE of them are of faith. I don't care what they are. A lot of those reasons seem SO sensible and logical, but they are not. They are unbelief, and that's all there is to it. One of the popular reasons for doubting is, "Well this condition came on me/them because of some sin that was committed." So what? Do you think that no one who came to Jesus had committed some sin? Jesus actually told one man, "Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee," but that was AFTER he had healed him (Jn. 5:14).

There were plenty of people who came to Jesus for healing or deliverance from demon oppression, who were in the condition they were in because they had committed sins. Jesus figures that if someone receives miracle healing by his great love, they probably should have enough sense to not turn around from something like that and start sinning with a vengeance. Nothing is going to convict someone of sin more than a powerful manifestation of the love of God toward them. If someone receives a miracle healing and goes back to sinning, it's pretty likely that whatever they were healed of will return along with some other troubles to boot. God figures that people should generally have enough sense to think about that. And if a miracle healing doesn't have the effect on someone of wanting to get into a closer relationship with Jesus, then what will have that effect? In any event, the bottom line is what Jesus said it is: "And these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they SHALL RECOVER" (Mk. 16:17,18). He didn't leave any loopholes in that statement in case people DON'T RECOVER. Those loopholes come from our own minds, and from demon spirits that are trying to inject unbelief into us THROUGH our own minds. Any thinking at all on why someone may not be healed is an avenue of doubt. If that arises in your mind then get off of that avenue and get back on the straight path of faith that KNOWS it is God's will to heal someone. It's simple like Jesus said: IF we believe, people WILL be healed when we pray for them, regardless of what they are thinking. As for us as believers, we need to eliminate every reason for doubt in order for us to be healed. If we believe without reason for doubt, then and only then are we in agreement with God's will and the mind of Christ regarding the matter. It goes back to an ancient saying that is tried and proven: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and LEAN NOT unto thine own understanding" (Prov. 3:5). That is how the miraculous takes place, by our full agreement with the will of God. That is the only way we can enact the will of God in our own lives, or anyone else's lives. God wants to do great and mighty things for the downtrodden and needy, but we have to act in agreement with what he wants in order for it to take place. So in the end there is only one reason for someone not being healed - UNBELIEF; otherwise known as some reason as to why someone maybe WON'T be healed. Amen.
