The Bible Code?

Friends, this is not going to be a long post. It doesn’t need to be. Seeing there are many who profess faith in Christ, who look to the “Bible Code” for truth to be revealed, I feel it necessary to make it plainly known that the Bible Code is in effect the same thing as witchcraft. Period. It is in the same venue as giving heed to the Zodiac signs, which is astrology; as well as handwriting analysis, palm reading, horoscopes, etc. Jesus made it very plain that when he went away he would send us something to guide us and teach us all that we need to know about he and his Father: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things” (Jn. 14:26). And, “Howbeit when the Spirit of truth is come, it will guide you into all truth” (Jn. 16:13). So that something is the holy Ghost, and there simply is no other something involved in the equation. And how long did he say that this heavenly guide would be here for us? “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth…” (Jn. 14:16,17). And the apostles of Christ were very much in agreement with him on this all important matter: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Rom. 8:14). And, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (I Cor. 2:12-14). And again, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (II Pet. 1:20,21). And yet once more, “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him” (I Jn. 2:27).

When God’s people try to interpret spiritual things or prophecies of God by any natural means, or even by so called “spiritual means” that are apart from the direct leading and teaching of God’s holy Spirit, it constitutes witchcraft in the sight of God. And I can assure you it is an abomination to God for his people to do so, as it has always been. The Bible code is nothing more than numerology, and serves only to divert the attention of God’s people away from seeking God diligently, and waiting to hear from his Spirit. Jesus said repeatedly in the book of Revelation to the seven congregations in Asia, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith…” Someome will undoubtedly say, “Well, the Bible code has been right about some things.” So what? It’s been wrong about a whole lot of things too. The same goes for astrology, mediums, palm reading, and the like. The holy Ghost on the other hand, has never, ever been wrong about anything! Why? Because it is the only source on earth that is of God, "the Spirit of truth.”Period. Period!! Find the scriptures for me where believers have been instructed to learn the things that are of God through some other source than the holy Ghost, and those who are speaking by the holy Ghost; and send them to me in a message on this page. I would love to see them. But you might like to save some time, because they do not exist! Let me close with the words of Isaiah: “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isa. 8:19,20). Yes friend, looking to the Bible code for knowledge that pertains to the kingdom of God, is no different than seeking unto “familiar spirits, and… wizards that peep.” And what did Isaiah, by inspiration of God, say that God’s people should look to? “The law and the testimony.” The law has been fulfilled, and by what? The holy Ghost of course, meaning that the holy Ghost is the law (Rom. 5:5; Gal. 5:14; Rom. 7:14; Rom. 8:4; Heb. 10:15,16). And what is “the testimony?” Why, the holy Ghost of course (Jn. 15:26; I Jn. 5:6,9,10; Rev. 19:10). I really believe that covers the topic. Amen and God bless.
