Just Trust God

Yeah, I admit that it sounds really simplistic, but that’s where the goods are at. He’s worthy to be trusted. He’s earned the trust of all men by sending his only begotten Son to die for our sins, and to take our place in death. He’s proven to me and you time and again that he can be trusted to be looking out for our good, and hopefully you’ve recognized that. So whatever you’re dealing with, or however you’re feeling, just look to him and trust that he’s doing the same now, because he is: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philip. 1:6). Only unbelief, and resulting sin, can rob us of the benefits of trusting fully in the goodness and power of God toward us. Over many years of serving God, he has never failed to come through for me, or to bring me through whatever I’ve dealt with; and I mean with peace and increased faith and joy. The only one between he and I who has ever failed me, is me. And he’s always been willing to pick me up and stand me up on my feet again, to walk with him to better places in his love: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand” (Psm. 37:23,24).

If you have failed, just come clean with God and I assure you he is willing to ‘go from here’ with you. That is just the way he thinks, and we should think likewise. Anything that may try to make you feel that he’s against you, is a lie of the devil. Period. As one renowned evangelist used to say, “You don’t have any trouble, all you need is faith in God.” That really does sum it up, because this journey is all about his strength being magnified in our weakness (II Cor. 12:9). We are going to have problems of all kinds arise from time to time, but he will work with us in these things to magnify his great love and power toward us, through our faith and dependence on him. As the scripture tells us: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28). In fact Jesus once told his disciples that it is impossible for anyone to be saved, and afterward added, “but with God all things are possible" (Mat. 19:26). Yes friend, we have been called to face impossibilities of all kinds, so that the God of all possibility can be seen and known through us. So just trust him and go along for the ride. He still can and will open the Red Sea in front of you. He delights in it, and he delights in our honoring him by trusting that he will. Amen.
