Can a Name Be Lost from the Book of Life?

The question I have for you today is, Can someone have their name written in the "book of life" and still lose out with God; meaning not be saved in the end? The answer is very short, but first let's consider how a person has their name written in the book of life. Revelation 17:8 makes it clear that anyone whose name is written in the book of life was written there "from the foundation of the world." So then how does it manifest in a person's life that they WERE written in that book from the foundation of the world? Well, it's simple: Whenever a person is born again of the Spirit of God, meaning baptized with the Spirit with the accompanying sign of speaking in tongues; this is the evidence that their name was written in the book of life before the world began (Jn. 3:5,6; I Cor. 12:13; II Cor. 5:17). The holy Ghost is that "Spirit of LIFE" mentioned in Romans 8:2,10; and it is also the "LIFE" that Jesus said he came to give to man "more abundantly" (Jn. 10:10). So the true new birth or Spirit baptism is the ONLY evidence that someone's name "was written in the book of life from the foundation of the world." These names were written before creation because God's foreknowledge saw who was going to believe on his Son unto receiving the Spirit that he came to provide (Rom. 8:29,30; Rom. 9:11; Eph. 2:10).

Now we can look at the Bible answer to this all-important question: In his message to the pastor of the congregation of Sardis in Asia, Jesus ended on a promising and fear worthy note: "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels" (Rev. 3:5). And with maybe even more godly fear he ended the Revelation to John with these very sobering words: "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall TAKE AWAY his part out of the book of life..." So it is easily evident that one could not have his name blotted out of the book of life unless it were written there to begin with, as Jesus alluded to in Rev. 3:5. And it is equally evident that God cannot "take away" anyone's name from the book of life unless it had been written there before the foundation of the world. And what this powerful scriptural reality does is eliminate the false teaching of predestination being that the supposed unchanging assurance of those who believe themselves to be "the elect" of God cannot in any way lose out on eternal salvation. You can call it whatever you want to call it my friend, but the truth is that if you are saved in the end, it will ONLY be because you CONTINUED in "righteousness and true holiness" by means of "purifying your soul in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren;" and that until you leave this world (Eph. 4:24; I Pet. 1:22; Mat. 24:12,13). Anything less than that will result in our name being blotted out of the book of life, and that only spells doom: "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life [on judgment day] was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev. 20:15).
