The Greatest Get Rich Quick Scam

Anyone who knows anything about business and making money will tell you that if a way to make a lot of money fast sounds too good to be true, it’s because it IS too good to be true. ‘Get rich quick’ schemes are just scams, simply because God has designed everything in this life that is worth attaining to, to require hard work, diligence, and focus; in order to obtain it. You name it, whether it be work, sports, relationships, hobbies, or anything else; you have to put a lot of effort into whatever it is to be good at it, and to have it produce the desired results. You have to work all week to get a paycheck, you have to exercise consistently and eat right to stay in good physical shape, etc. So how is it that obtaining the ultimate prize of immortality and eternal life in glory is so easy? Modern Christianity has intoxicated everyone who adheres to it with the notion that gaining immortality is as easy as saying the words, “Jesus is Lord,” or repeating a “sinners prayer,” or just “asking the Lord to come into your heart.” I’ve been around for a while now, and there’s no way I could hope to count the people who have assured me that they are “forgiven of all past, present, and future sins;” and “have a home in heaven that no one can take away;” simply through the means of modern Christian tradition mentioned above. What modern Christianity expects you to believe is something that is totally contrary to the design of all things that exist. Believing these ridiculous, unscriptural doctrines and traditions is exactly what the apostles called having someone “make merchandise of you" (II Cor. 11:19,20; II Pet. 2:3).

Just as people continue to fall for the ‘get rich quick’ schemes, so they continue to be made merchandise of by Christianity and it’s empty promise of eternal life by means of doing basically nothing at all. It reminds me of an old Simon and Garfunkel song, where he says, "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.” ‘The rest’ in this case is that first of all you have to come clean completely with God, and yield your will over to him, for Jesus to baptize you with the holy Ghost; which comes with his own appointed sign of speaking with other tongues to confirm that new birth experience. That experience is the only remission of sins that exists, and after we’ve received it, our duty from then on is to “purify [ourselves], even as he [Christ] is pure" (Acts 10:46; Acts 15:7-9). According to the apostle John, that is the only way we’re going to be raised from the dead and obtain immortality and eternal life (I Jn. 3:1-3). And I can assure you that Jesus is very pure, and that it is going to take some serious praying, doing, and literal dying to ourselves in order to fulfill that commandment. Not only that, but if we fail to accomplish this task till the end, we will certainly be lost, to which things Jesus and the apostles have agreed to in speaking and writing. ( Lk. 13:24; Lk. 18:1-8; Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:19-21; Philip. 2:12; Heb. 4:11; I Pet. 1:13-17; Jas. 2:14-20; Jude 1:5-7; etc.). No wonder the scriptures tell us that salvation is a hope, and something that we have to strive diligently till the end to obtain (Rom. 8:24,25; Eph. 4:4; 1Thess. 5:8; I Pet. 1:13,14).
