Healing Made Easy

Here are a couple of notes about some things the Lord was showing me about healing a few days ago. When Moses sent twelve men to spy out the land of Canaan, ten of them brought back an ‘evil report.’ The following is that evil report of the ten spies who lacked faith: “And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” (Num. 13:32,33). The Lord had promised the land to Israel but only Joshua and Caleb believed that they could take the land. The reason the other ten men did NOT believe that they could take the land was simply because the inhabitants of the land were giants. In other words they were judging the matter by sight and not by faith. “For we walk by faith, NOT by sight” (II Cor. 5:7). Joshua and Caleb were judging the matter by what God had said, not by what they saw. Therefore their report was quite another story: “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Num. 13:30). But the other ten spies immediately countered Caleb’s faith with their unbelief: “But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we” (Num. 13:30,31). They brought back marvelous fruits from the land but they did not bring back faith that God would give them the land as he had said that he would. As it turned out, the evil report of the ten spies won out with the people over Joshua and Caleb’s report of faith. The result? Well, the children of Israel got to wander in the wilderness for forty years before entering a land that they could have taken in weeks or months. Not only so, but the fact that the people received the evil report over the report of faith angered God and he cursed all the men of war to die before they were able to enter the promised land (Num. 14:21-24). So as it turned out it was their children who took the land, since they refused to believe God for what he had promised them.

So the thing that the Lord showed me about healing is that there is no difference in praying and believing for someone with a missing leg to receive their leg back than there is praying for someone for a headache to go away. It is God who does the healing, not us. It is our faith that procures the healing for someone that we are praying for, and our faith is in God. So faith is faith, and God is God; therefore we can pray for anyone with any condition and they should be healed. The only blockade that exists is a lack of faith on our part, and the only reason that it seems harder to get a result on bigger problems is because we have ‘Anakim syndrome.’ The Anakims were the giants that lived in the land of Canaan, which the ten spies were intimidated by. We simply are looking at and thinking about how huge the really bad condition that mixes our focus with that of the fact that Jesus paid the price for ALL infirmities of all kinds at the same time with the same suffering. If we can just let our minds and our eyes be subjected fully to the reality that it is all about Jesus, the price he paid to heal and redeem, and the fact that it is always his will to heal and redeem; we will see the results on the bigger conditions. It’s that simple, but we have to get ourselves simplified down to the place where it IS that simple. Our focus cannot be mixed with Jesus and what he has done, and the size of th problem that we’re praying for. People die, and often people continue with issues that could be healed because we just aren’t where we need to be with these things. It doesn’t mean we are evil if our faith isn’t up to the task, but there are consequences because of it. When his disciples marveled at the withered fig tree that Jesus had cursed the day before, Jesus did not marvel. But he did answer them on the matter with bare simplicity: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mk. 11:22-24). A mountain is a mighty big thing to cast into the sea, but Jesus meant what he said. Just remember, it is God who casts the mountain into the sea, so we need only focus on how big he is rather than how big the mountain is. Amen.
