Then Shall the End Come

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Mat. 24:14). I want one and all to see today how that this emphatic statement of truth from Jesus clearly demonstrates that the ‘Gospel’ that Christianity projects as the gospel of Christ is absolutely not the Gospel of Christ at all. Christianity has literally gone everywhere in the world, whether by satellite, or by the internet, or missionaries, or whatever the case may be. I’ve even heard one TV station proclaim that their satellite ministries have literally taken ‘the Gospel’ to all the world. So then why hasn’t the end come, as Jesus said it would? And why haven’t the things in the Bible that signify ‘the end’ coming, which are just too many to list here, taken place either? I will tell you why my friend; it is simply because the Gospel that Jesus referred to as “this gospel of the kingdom [of God]” has NOT been preached in all the world. And how do I know this? Well all we really have to do is scripturally define what the Gospel of the kingdom of God truly is, in order to accurately answer that question. Let’s just look at it plain and simple: Paul, how do you define the Gospel? “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Rom. 1:16). Okay, thanks Paul, but I’m not sure I fully get it. Can you say it one more time in just a little bit different words? “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in POWER” (I Cor. 4:20). Ohhhh, I see. The Gospel ISthe power of God! Okay, so Jesus, can you tell me just how to get this power of God into my life? “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” (Acts 1:4,5,8).. Uh huhhh, so I have to be baptized with the holy Ghost to have the power of God present in my life. So that must mean that I’m not really a partaker of the true Gospel of Christ if I have not been baptized with the holy Ghost like those people Jesus was talking to were several days later when they all spoke in tongues when the Spirit came into them (Acts 2:4).

Well I see what Jesus and Paul said about the Gospel, but that is kind of narrowing things down a little bit close isn’t it? What was it you had to say about that Jesus? “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat. 7:13,14). Ohhhh, uh huhhh. I think I’m seeing this thing clearly now. When Jesus said “this Gospel of the kingdom,” he was talking about the faith that results in the baptism of the holy Ghost, wasn’t he? But is there one more bit of confirmation that nails this simplicity of truth down really tight? How about it Paul, do you have anything more for us? “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy IN THE HOLY GHOST” (Rom. 14:17). I seeee; the kingdom of God is the holy Ghost, the holy Ghost is the power of God, and the Gospel is the power of God. That can only mean that the holy Ghost baptism ISwhat Jesus was referring to when he said “this Gospel of the kingdom.” Yep, in fact I see now that is the only thing he could have been talking about, at least according to the Bible. Got it! That does make sense, especially seeing that when John the Baptist introduced Jesus on earth, that is exactly what he said Jesus was coming for (Mk. 1:7,8). And it makes sense as well, that he didn’t say that he was coming for any other reason. Yeahhh, I do see it now. That has to be why that was exactly what John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostles all preached the same simplistic message: “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven [God] is at hand” (Mat. 3:2; Mat. 4:17; Mat. 10:7). And so concludes our interesting conversation with our Bible friends, but I would like to add just one more serious element to this irrefutably evident truth that we have seen clearly and absolutely confirmed from the scriptures. And that is that this holy Bible truth totally upsets the comfy apple cart of Christianity and all of its “getting saved,” “accepting the Lord,” “confessing Jesus,” “praying the sinner’s prayer;” and all of the rest of the poisonous additives that man, with Satan’s help, has polluted and perverted the pure Gospel of Christ with. And when “this gospel of the kingdom” is preached purely on a grand scale, we will not only see the end come, as Jesus stated; but we will also see the things come that he mentioned just before that statement, that will precede the end: “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Mat. 24:9-13). So only this question is left: Are you willing to give yourself wholly to the forwarding of the only true Gospel, and suffer the reproach and persecution that goes along with forsaking everything else that is false? (Jer. 15:15; Mat. 13:20,21; II Tim. 1:7,8; II Tim. 3:12; Heb. 13:13; etc.). Amen, and God bless.
