Is God Fair?

There is no such thing as ‘fair’ with God, according to what men count as fair. The modern version of ‘fair’ is really just something that has man invented to suit his own whims and to give himself an excuse for self pity when he doesn’t get his way about things. God is simply 'right,' and ‘good’ about all things, at all times. The Bible states that it is the entire duty of man upon the earth to find out God’s right and good way and do it (Eccl. 12:13). God continually judges the affairs of men, and he will have a final judgment for all men, according to what they have done while living here (Psm. 105:7; Rev. 20:11,12). His judgments now, as well as his final judgment, will be on his terms, and everyone will be measured on whether they were found in his right or whether they were not. All who refuse to comply with and submit to his right are found guilty now, and will be found guilty in the end if they do not repent. In fact the whole idea today of ‘fair’ is just a ‘fairy’ tale. It is just one of man’s childish devices which he uses to try to excuse himself from repenting of his own perverse ways and seeking and submitting to God for his own good. The Bible is replete with admonitions that God will destroy with everlasting vengeance all those who refuse to forsake what he calls wickedness (Mat. 13:40-42; II Thess. 1:6-9; etc., etc.). The fact that man’s mind and spirit is so perverted that he “calls evil good, and good evil” does not change who and what God is; and it certainly does not change the reality that God does judge and will judge man for his wickedness if he remains in it (Isa. 5:20; Mal, 3:6; Jas. 1:17; II Cor. 5:10).

The hopeful side of all of this is that God “is willing for none to perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Pet. 3:9). And again, "Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?" (Ezek. 18:23) God went as far as to send his only begotten Son into this world to suffer and die for man to have a way out of sin, and for man to be a partaker of his own right and good way (Jn. 3:16; Heb. 12:10; II Pet. 1:4). So there is still time for whosoever will, to forsake the insanity of the mind and spirit of this world, and to "Seek the LORD while he may be found, [and] call upon him while he is near" (Isa. 55:6). That reminds me of the words of the great apostle Paul: "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead" (Acts 17:30,31). Friend, if you want to hold to things that displease God, or support things that he hates, you will find him to be quite 'unfair’ indeed; because things are going to be his way, and all who oppose him will surely perish with everlasting torment and destruction (Rev. 21:8). "Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished" (Prov. 11:21). And again; "But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. What do ye imagine against the LORD?… For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry" (Nahum 1:8-10). So then it doesn’t matter how many people share the same wrong view of the same wrong things, because God will have the last word on it all. Those who are wise will believe and submit to his word now while they have the chance (Heb. 3:15). Amen.
