The Cruelty of Time

Time is absolutely the most relentless creature in existence. It never shows mercy or forgives. If you have wasted it, you cannot possibly get it back, because it’s gone forever. The Lord spoke to me loud and clear many years ago, and said “wasted time is death.” Time is the tortoise and all men are the hare. While thinking you’ve got plenty of it, it is defeating you at the very same time. No one has ever conquered time after a worldly manner. It’s not even possible. Time has conquered all who have ever lived, and has not shown any pity in the process. There is only one way to conquer time, and that is to fall out completely to Jesus, who is full of pity and mercy, while you still have time! If you don’t want to be defeated by time, you must dive into that stream of eternal life, which is God’s Spirit, and stay in it from then on. We may not be able to conquer time after a worldly manner, but we can have the last word on it if we are filled with the eternal Spirit of life that dwells in the Father and the Son, and stay filled with it till the end (Rom. 8:2,10; Mat. 24:13). That is the only vehicle that will carry us safely across the great divide of death to the place where time is no longer able to pursue us.

In this world time inevitably means death, but Jesus said, “Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”(Jn. 11:26). He also said that whoever believes on him will receive the holy Ghost, which is the eternal Spirit of life that is in God and his Son (Jn. 7:37-39; Jn. 5:26). And the apostle Paul made it very clear that it will take more than just receiving the Spirit to escape the cruelty of time and death, when he said; “If ye [believers] live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live" (Rom. 8:13). If we don’t continue denying our old nature after being baptized with the Spirit, then our time here will have been wasted, regardless of having been born again. Sin equates to death, and God’s Spirit is the only solution to that problem, but only if we follow after the Spirit till the end (Rom. 8:1,14; Heb. 4:1,11). And it’s certain that we will have to prioritize our time unto the things that edify faith and pertain to the kingdom of God if we hope to make that grade (Mat. 6:31-34; Rom. 8:5,6; Gal. 6:7-9; Eph. 5:15,16). "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15,16). Amen.
