The Living Stream

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David” (Isa. 55:1-3). Now let’s fast forward and show what this prophecy was really about, and what it means to us today: “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.]” (Jn. 7:37-39). “And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Rev. 22:17). “Labour not for the meat which perisheth , but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed” (Jn. 6:27). “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the [congregations]” (Rev. 3:22). If you can receive it, it really is that simple. If you can get in the stream of the holy Ghost, and keep flowing freely in it, you will hear what the Spirit is saying, and you will be always fed by the Master. In that case it is certain that “your soul will delight itself in fatness,” and it just doesn’t get any better than that. Amen.
