Hopelessness Is Real

The state of being truly and completely hopeless is indeed a very real thing. Same goes for having done too much evil to be redeemed. And being worthy and certain of eternal damnation is also a very real state. And not being able to get right with God? Yes, that is an absolutely true condition as well. And it is just as real and true that the state of not being able to continue in righteousness till the end also exists. And the blasphemy of the holy Ghost, the only unforgivable sin? Yes it is indeed fearfully true as well. And how about the condition of being totally and completely alone? That is indeed a dooming reality that also exists. I suppose we could throw in a few more conditions that have plagued man since sin entered into the world, but the first part of the point is sufficiently established here. Yes my friend, it is absolutely and positively certain and true that all of the above states of being are irrefutable realities, for the devil and the angels who followed him in his heavenly revolt. All of the horrific conditions mentioned above, as well as others, are in fact the very state of being of these fallen heavenly dignities. And because they have been cast into the earth with us, they continually seek to impose these feelings and mentalities upon mankind, so that we can join them in their damnation (Rev. 12:12). Without realizing it in large part, man is continually having the thoughts and feelings of demons imposed upon him unawares, believing that these thoughts and feelings are his own; when in fact they are merely tricks of the devil (Eph. 6:11). We are dealing with invisible, undetectable, and very wickedly wise spiritual beings that are greater by creation than we are; and the only way to detect them, combat them, and defeat them is by the Spirit of the living God, and a whole lot of it. These demon spirits transmit what they feel and think to men by stealth, and they do not include the advantage of letting you know that it is them; but rather let you feel that it is yourself feeling these things. Every time a human being feels like the conditions mentioned above are true about himself, he is believing a lie.

I Jn. 3:8 gives us the truth on the matter: “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” And Jesus did just that - He destroyed the works of the devil, and we can join him in that victory if we have his Spirit, and abide therein continually. As John said just before the previously quoted scripture: “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him” (I Jn. 3:6). The key is to get power over sin in our own lives, and live free from the condemnation that comes with sin (Rom. 8:1-4). And again, the only way to get this victory is to be baptized with the holy Ghost, and afterward to be led thereby (Acts 1:4,5,8; Rom. 8:13,14; Rev. 21:7). As long as we live in disobedience to God’s holy will, the devil will have the mastery over us by means of deception and superior power; but if we receive and follow hard after the heavenly power that Jesus died and rose to provide, then we turn the tables on Satan, and his power is nullified. And it is truly as simple as coming clean before God, staying that way, and persevering in faith, humility, and honesty of heart (Mk. 1:15; Rom. 14:17; Col. 2:6; Mat. 24:12,13). Friend, don’t allow the devil to impose his thoughts upon you and convince you that you are guilty of his spiritual crimes, and destined for his fate. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (Jn. 3:16,17; Jn. 7:37-39). And again: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (Jn. 10:10). That is the truth that we need to believe and abide in. It comes down to the same thing that started all the trouble that is in the world, which could have been avoided. Believe the truth, and don’t entertain a lie. Amen.
