I have a few notes that I would like to share on the subject of healing today. These are some things that the Lord has allowed me to see about how to obtain healing for our bodies, and how to pray for others to receive the same. The first thing is the fact that there is absolutely NO record in the Bible of ANYONE coming to Jesus, or being brought to Jesus by someone else for the purpose of healing, that was NOT healed. It isn't there, and that is REALLY GOOD NEWS! Secondly there is no record in the Bible of Jesus making any issue with anyone about how they got in the condition that they were in. He never said, "But if you hadn't done this or that you wouldn't be in this shape." He also never said, "First you will have to go do this or that, and then you can be healed." He simply "laid his hands on EVERY ONE of them, and healed them" (Lk. 4:40). Peter told it like it is when he preached the Gospel to the Roman Centurion Cornelius and his household: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about DOING GOOD, and healing ALL that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him" (Acts 10:38). Now this is what Jesus did when he was here, but he also made certain that we would be able to trust that we could receive the same from him after he went away; paying the greatest of all costs at Calvary with an agonizing death that punctuated a massive scourging that he took beforehand. Of these things Peter simply stated; "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes YE WERE HEALED" (I Pet. 2:24). What does this mean to us? It means that the healing of every infirmity known to man was purchased for us at Calvary, even as the forgiveness of every sin ever committed was purchased for us as well. The beloved apostle told us the following with utter simplicity of truth: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (I Jn. 1:9). Note the simplicity of this statement, that there are no hidden clauses or conditions attached. It's just what it is; If we honestly confess something that we have done wrong, he WILL forgive us and cleanse us anew. There is no thinking or reasoning to be done in this case, but rather honest acknowledgment of our trespass to God, and receiving of our forgiveness by faith that he will forgive us, even as the scripture says. Jesus demonstrated God's will for forgiveness when he was here, and he graphically demonstrated it at Calvary. In fact he ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED IT for all who will come clean and trust him for redemption. The price that Jesus paid was so great that there is no sin that can approach being compared to it. To believe that we have 'done too much' to be forgiven and redeemed is to DISBELIEVE the greatness of the cost that Jesus paid for our redemption.

To have unbelief in God's will that he has plainly shown and established is an insult to the magnitude of his love, of whom the scripture says, "For God SO LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Jn. 3:16). The scripture also says the following about God's magnificent love for mankind: "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Rom. 8:32). That rule not only applies to our redemption, but it also applies to the healing of our bodies. Our healing was purchased at the same time that our redemption was purchased. It also is obtained by us the same exact way, that being by faith in Jesus for the price he paid, and the promise of our healing that was included in that cost. He healed EVERYBODY that came to him for healing, and then he paid the greatest cost that could possibly be paid to seal the guarantee of his and his Father's will to do the same for all who would believe after he went away. Not only so, but the scripture very clearly tells us, "Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Heb. 13:8). So here is the summary of the things that I've noted here that God has let me understand: There is absolutely no reason under the sun that Jesus would not heal any and all of our afflictions, if we simply bring them to him with honesty of faith. What we have to do is eliminate any and every reason imaginable that would hinder us from just having simplistic faith in the evident will of God for our healing, which 'will' has already been graphically established, both by the person of Jesus, and by the scriptural record and witness of the same. When we do away with every single 'if,' 'but,' and 'what if,' then we are left only with pureness of faith in what God has simplistically established about his will to heal us. HE WILL DO IT! Not he 'can do it, and will if he wants to.' Not IF it's his will, he will do it. That is UNBELIEF! Jesus waits eagerly to do all for us that he did when he was here, and more also, but we must enact his will by our faith because he has left it in our hands to do his works (Jn. 14:12). "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire , when ye pray , believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mk. 11:24). It should be easy for us to believe something that he has so plainly shown to be his will for us. Jesus said, "That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask , it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Mat. 18:19). How much more does this apply when we agree WITH HIM about his will and great desire to heal us?

God has gone to a lot of trouble as it were, to show very clearly that it simply IS HIS WILL TO HEAL US, even as it IS HIS WILL to redeem us from sin and to save us unto life eternal. We must not complicate the OBVIOUSLY established will of God for these things, but rather as Jesus told the synagogue ruler Jairus who received the news that his daughter had died: "Be not afraid, only believe" (Mk. 5:36). It really comes down to the wise and powerful proverb that tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Prov. 3:5). When we learn to quit finding reasons for why God might not heal us, then we can let him do what he is waiting for us to let him do, and that is to "heal all that are oppressed of the devil." If you need healing from the Lord, keep all of these things in mind when you ask, and just believe and agree with him for what he wants to do. If you want to pray for the healing of others, then lay your hands on them with this simplicity of truth, love, and faith. Period. It's really not a difficult thing that requires some huge effort or strain. It's just a matter of getting our minds out of God's way, and trusting him with all of our heart, even as the proverb states. If you know that you are harboring sin, then confess it and forsake it, thereby clearing your conscience so you can believe for your healing (Prov. 28:13). Sin makes for a nagging conscience which interferes with faith, as the Psalmist noted: "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psm. 66:18). If we are holding onto sin God will not hear us because we are not approaching him honestly or in faith, but rather with a defiled conscience. But who wants sin and all of its unrest anyway? Certainly no child of God should be content to allow sin to remain in their life, so just come clean and approach God with that confidence, as the apostle said: "For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God" (I Jn. 3:20,21). On that note, let me repeat something from earlier in this article: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." You can believe that with simplicity of faith as well, and disregard any consideration of why God 'might not forgive you.' So all that is left is to receive your healing and take God's healing love and promise to others. "And these signs SHALL follow them that BELIEVE... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they SHALL recover" (Mk. 16:17,18). Amen!
