Judgment and Righteousness

There is such an epidemic of a lack of love for righteousness today, and the result is no righteous judgment to be found anywhere. Unfortunately this is no new thing, as the following account of God's word to Jeremiah shows: "Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it" (Jer. 5:1). Sadly to say, Jeremiah did not find that man, and God did not pardon the revolting wickedness of his people of Judah. Jesus leveled the Pharisees in his day for their mass hypocrisy, and for their lack of righteous judgment: "But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone" (Lk. 11:42). From this we can see that without having righteous judgment about us, we do not have the love of God either. Jesus clearly showed with that statement that those two elements are inseparable. According to the scriptures the love of God is to keep his righteous commandments, and that love is the only 'love' that God defines as love (I Jn. 5:2,3). So many people today want to talk about love, love, and more love; yet what they are calling love in many cases is simply letting the wicked have their way without facing any kind of consequence for their wickedness. When we see the leaders of the free world exalting abominations like abortion, homosexuality and Islam, we know that they have no righteous judgment at all, and certainly no love for righteousness. Under the old covenant, which covenant was of the same God as the new covenant is of; homosexuality was punishable by death (Lev. 18:22; Lev. 20:13). I'm not saying that homosexuals should be put to death today, but I am saying that any lawmakers and governmental leaders who would promote and celebrate something that God deemed worthy of his death penalty; are totally devoid of love, understanding, and righteous judgment.

The god of Islam is certainly NOT the same God as the God of the faith of Christ, therefore it falls into the category of being 'another god.' Here is what God had to say about acknowledging or speaking in the name of 'other gods' than himself, the one true God: "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die" (Deut. 18:20). That would apply in spades to the false prophet Mohammed and his false religion of another god called 'Allah.' Again I must say, that for the leaders of the free world to welcome, defend, and promote a religion that God deems worthy of his death penalty, is a clear lack of judgment and understanding of love or righteousness. As far as abortion, are you kidding me? Do you really need proof that premeditating the killing of a human being with a beating heart, is murder? Shame on you if you do. Oh yeah, murder is punishable by death in the law of God also. If you need scripture references for that, get your bible out. The only result that can possibly come from such a mass, worldwide lack of judgment in high places of power in the earth, is quite simply to be judged, and that by Almighty God. The entire world is doing something that God vehemently detests, and those in power are actually daring God to do anything about it. Do they know that they're doing that? Of course not. If they knew it that would mean that they have enough judgment about them to know God hates what they're doing. Does it make any difference whether they know it or not? Absolutely and unequivocally NO! Reason being that they are willingly ignorant of these things, even as the apostle Peter said they are "willingly ignorant" of God's judgment that is soon to come upon this world for it's wickedness (II Pet. 3:3-7). It's a simple matter really. If we want to understand righteous judgment, we first must love the righteousness of God. If we do not love God's righteousness then it is impossible to understand what the heck is really going on or what we're really talking about or doing.

David, who had a heart after God, knew what I'm talking about here: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments" (Psm. 111:10). So did his son Solomon: "Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things" (Prov. 28:5). The grand problem we see behind all of this absurdity in the world today is one that Jesus addressed with the self righteous of his day: "I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you... How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" (Jn. 5:41,42,44). Nobody in power is willing to be identified with God and disrespected by men as a result. They are all in love with the honor that they receive from one another, so they all just do and say whatever the majority will praise them for. But they should think twice about their love for the praise of men, because there is something very bad awaiting those who are of that mind: "For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish" (Psm. 49:17-20). Just for clarity sake, the reference to never seeing light is a direct reference to the lake of fire and brimstone which is the final fate of all who do not love God and his righteousness while in this life (Rev. 21:8). Jude referenced the everlasting darkness of the 'second death,' when speaking of those who had permanently forsaken the true faith: "These are spots in your feasts of [love], when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever" (Jude 1:12,13). I personally do not want to share the fate of those people.

I have to tell you my friend, the verdict was in on this world two thousand years ago, and Jesus read it to us clearly: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil" (Jn. 3:16-19). With that divine mouthful stated, let me say very clearly that anyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ, and is indifferent about any of the abominations of abortion, homosexuality, or Islam; is a hypocrite, an impostor, and is ready to perish except they repent of their hypocrisy and lukewarmness. As the beloved apostle said: "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous" (I Jn. 3:7). Jesus does not accept, allow, or feel indifferently about the abominations listed in this article; and in fact he hates them so much that he is going to obliterate everyone who holds to them when he comes from heaven back to this earth. Again, if you need references for that one, get your bible out and look them up. As for those who do not hate the things that Christ and his Father hate, David gave us some plainness on that as well, saying of the wicked; "he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil" (Psm. 36:4). Solomon his son gave us the flip side of that saying, speaking in the first person of God: "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate" (Prov. 8:13). It is most assuredly an arrogant and froward mouth that speaks well of abominations that God hates. Solomon also showed us the fate of every arrogant tongue that speaks contrary to the word of God: "The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out" (Prov. 10:31). That sounds like righteous judgment against all who love the things that God hates, and who refuse to judge them for what they are. Amen.
