Beyond Blu-Ray

I sometimes notice the HD TV’s when I walk through a department store, and often they have some blue-ray movie or animated show on. The visual clarity of these systems is truly amazing, but if you REALLY want to see things clearly, you have to come clean with God and get “the love of God shed abroad in [your] heart by the holy Ghost” (Rom. 5:5). Because in all reality you are seeing nothing accurately until you are seeing with God’s love. If more folks could see by means of that holy love, then less people would be asking foolish questions like, “Well if God is so good, then why is he letting all of these horrible things happen in this world?” And a WHOLE lot of folks would have a lot gentler view and attitude toward their fellow man in his weaknesses and failures, as the scriptures admonish us to do: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted” (Gal. 6:1). Jesus really put it across just like it is when he said, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye” (Mat. 7:1-5).

In fact every one who is NOT seeing through the eyes of God’s love, is not seeing AT ALL! And Jesus confirmed this truth as well when he sharply rebuked the religious leaders of his day for being displeased when he restored sight to a blind man: “And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth” (Jn. 9:39-41). That is correct my friend, if you are not absolutely thrilled for good things happening for someone else, you are just plain blind. And there are an awful lot of unmerciful ‘Christians’ running around with religious pride that is not making anyone happy about anything, but rather is promoting the honor of men in their own little social activities within their own little [or big] religious cliques. That promotion of the honor of men is NOT of the love of God, as Jesus also assured those who considered themselves to be the ‘elect’ in his day: “I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you… How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” (Jn. 5:41,42,44). So we can love with God’s love and truly see, or we can dress up man’s love in religious clothes and THINK we are seeing, while being blind all the time. The choice is ours. Amen.
